Paddle Skills Workshop
April 16, 2010
Professional instructors from the Recreational Canoeing Association of British Columbia will lead this afternoon workshop on Kawkawa Lake near Hope. This is a great opportunity for individuals and families to improve their canoeing skills and learn more about safe lake travel. Canoes, paddles, PFD’s, and safety gear are all provided by RCABC.
Skills:
You will be introduced to the high degree of control that is possible in a canoe--not just paddling forward efficiently but also spinning, sideslipping and reverse paddling. Common safety and rescue issues will be included, and time will be taken for your questions.
This skill-building afternoon lesson is not intended to take the place of a complete course, but further information will be provided if you wish to take future training in flat water and moving water canoeing.
