One of Hope Mountain Centre’s “purposes” as a charitable organization is to conserve, protect and restore natural resources within Southwest British Columbia by facilitating and guiding environmental and land stewardship projects. Examples of our conservation work in this area is through community education on living with black bears and other wildlife in the Hope area (run by the Hope Mountain Black Bear Committee), monitoring and reporting of rare grizzly bear sightings in southwest BC, and water quality monitoring in the Skagit River watershed in the Canadian Cascade Mountains. Our conservation work, as with all Hope Mountain Centre activities, would not be possible without the help of dedicated volunteers.
